FISHING / Ice Fishing
The Rock Pine is located in Fish Management Zone 11 on Frenchman's Bay
From our private boat launch and docks an angler can access (by boat) Marten River, Marten Lake, Bruce Lake and McPhee Lake which offers 100's of km of fishable shoreline and waterways. Wicksteed Lake boat launch is a short 5 minute drive away. These lakes and rivers are considered some of the best fishing areas around. There is plenty of lake trout, walleye, pike, bass, perch, pickerel and whitefish with the occasional sturgeon to be found.
Not from Ontario? Would you like to use the Rock Pine as a base and fish some of the best fishing holes to be found in Northeastern Ontario during your visit without having to pack up and move to each different local?
We are located within 1/2 hour to an hours drive from the Top 5 Fishing Holes as rated by Mat Koprash making us an ideal & central base location.
Feeling adventurous? Trailer a boat into some remote nearby lakes by atv.
The Rock Pine property has 1000' of shoreline which offers plenty of fishing from land opportunity. Fishing from the shore or from our brand new dock is fun for the kids, providing hours of entertainment.
Ice Fishing
Unfortunately, we are not ice fishers ourselves so we are unable to provide a lot of insight or information about this sport.
The Bay has a maximum depth of about 16 feet. It is a fairly calm waterbody so freezes quickly compared to other waterbodies in the area.
Guest have successfully ice fished on the Bay; however, guest must provide their own equipment and huts as we do not currently supply ice fishing equipment.
